A Wake Up Call

You know those times when someone tells you something and it really gets you thinking and makes you want to do something good? Well I had one of those moments today. My Dad showed me this on-line video called The Story of Stuff. It was all about the process in which we make, buy, sell, and get rid of stuff. The whole thing was really interesting and a great wake up call. I was aware before that out planet was not doing well but I did not know the science of it. The video made me understand better what was going on in our world. Being close to Christmas and all with people just wanting to buy buy buy was good time to watch it. It really made me think what is the difference between needing and wanting. You need food,but what type of food you get is a matter of wanting, some foods you need in order to survive but others just make you happy. Anther thing it got me thinking about it all the stuff I own. One statistic from the movie was that only 1% of all the stuff we buy is kept more than 6 months. I recently cleaned out my room and realized that I was getting rid of stuff I had had for a long time not new stuff. I guess I am not an average human which is good.

Clocks

We have this annoying Christmas clock at our house that plays a bit of a Christmas song every hour on the hour. Not only is it annoying but do you have any idea how scary it is to suddenly hear a song start to play? My brothers love the clock so they always manage to turn it on so it can drive me crazy. When ever a song plays they have to find out what it is right away!

News Flash: It has finally stopped snowing at my house.

Snow

It has been snowing nonstop at my house. It started Friday and has not stopped yet. We have at least 1 foot of snow and it is still piling up. It is still powder thought so it is not that heavy to shovel. This is also perfect snow angle snow so go out and make a few snow angles.

So my newest blog idea is to get my blog as a blog of note. My problem is nobody visits my blog. So if you do I would appreciate it if you recommended it to your friends .

OK so on a different subject. It is snowing so crazy right now at my house. I am not sure if it is powder or sticky snow but I can not wait to go sledding today. My brother can not wait to build his snow fort. He was just staring out the windows like kids always do in those Christmas movies.

I am now officially on break from school. I have no holiday plans how ever.

Yea it is Halloween. I carved pumpkins in school today. It was so fun. I skinned mine to the bone. Well a pumpkin has no bones so skip that. But anyway it was a lot of fun. I love the spirit of candy and all.
